How We Rebuilt a Website That Vanished With Its Vendor

Blue Ridge Event Staffing's website had been part of their business for years — generating inquiries, showing up in search results, doing what a website is supposed to do.

Then, without warning, their web designer and hosting provider went out of business.

The website disappeared with them.

It happened at the worst possible time, right before the busy summer season.

With the site gone and no easy way to recover it, they found themselves needing to rebuild something they hadn't planned, and quickly.

They reached out to Bonfire Studio. We got to work.

The Plan

With the busy season bearing down, the priority was getting a credible site back online fast.

So we focused the launch on the four pages that mattered most — enough to tell the core of their story, restore their search presence, and give the business a foundation to build on.

Additional service pages, and staff portal are planned for later phases.

The four pages that mattered most:

  • Home — establish what services they provide, credibility, and direct visitors to the right place

  • Wedding & Event Staffing — their primary consumer-facing service

  • B2B / Corporate Clients — a distinct audience with distinct needs

  • Request a Quote — the primary conversion point for the business

How We Built It

1. Discovery first

Before any design or writing began, we held a kickoff call to learn about the business — their services, their clients, how they work, and what mattered most to them.

That conversation became the foundation for everything that followed.

We also used the Wayback Machine to pull an archived version of the old site.

Having the archive to reference meant our client's team didn't have to hunt for files, reconstruct service details from memory, or walk us through the history of a website that was no longer there.

2. Custom copywriting

With a clear picture of the business in hand, we wrote original copy for each page — tailored to two distinct audiences that this event staffing company serves.

The consumer-facing event staffing page speaks to couples, private hosts, and nonprofits.

The B2B page speaks to corporate clients and event venues.

Both needed to feel like they came from the same voice without blurring the distinction between the two.

SEO: Throughout, the copy was written with search in mind. We chose language and highlighted the services their clients are searching for, so the site reads naturally to visitors while giving search engines a clear signal of what this business does and who it serves.

3. Custom design

Our client didn't have formal brand guidelines, so we developed a color palette directly from their logo.

From there, we built a custom design on Duda that threads together two things that don't always coexist easily: a corporate-leaning professionalism and a genuine warmth.

They staff weddings, but they didn't want a flowery wedding website, and we designed for that without needing it spelled out.

To ground the site in place without tipping into rustic, we used custom-designed topographic patterns — a quiet nod to the Western North Carolina mountains.

This is a locally-owned business that's been part of the Asheville community for over a decade, and the site needed to feel like that — not like a generic staffing agency template.

4. Delivered in five weeks

We gave them a five-week timeline at the start of the project. We hit it.

The Takeaway

"The redesign we didn't know we needed."

A website going offline unexpectedly is a serious disruption; especially for a business that depends on it to generate inquiries during peak season.

When our client saw the finished site, they said it was the redesign they didn't know they needed.

Losing their website, as disruptive as it was, is what got them a better one.

The ability to move quickly, make smart decisions, and produce work worth being proud of is something we take seriously.

This project required:

  • Recovering usable material from an archived version of a site that no longer existed

  • Writing thoughtful copy from that raw material, tailored to two distinct audiences

  • Developing a brand direction without existing guidelines to lean on

  • Delivering on a short timeline

If your business needs a new website — planned or otherwise — start the conversation.
